Literature Text

So the heart of a poet just bleeds, you say,
And we only cry throughout the day.
I find it amusing, the common ruse,
That poets sit daily and naught but muse
On broken hearts and shattered thoughts
On grey and dying forget-me-nots.
I'm a poet and here to say,
Though sometimes I cry,
My smile does stay.
I laugh, it's true,
And not only on cue.
I write my thoughts out in my pen
To get the devils out, and then,
Smile or sleep, it's rare I weep,
And I'm sure that Poe has had his days
Where sorrow slips away
And, like me, his soul is let to play.
Sadness, often, is conveyed
Merely for its sweetness.
A poets heart can bleed, it's true,
But is it not true, too, of you?
And so I say, with no dismay,
Smile,
Hearts can't always bleed, anyway.
lol. srsly. can ANYONE show me a picture\bit of literature about a poet where they aren't crying\cutting etc.?

ok so i wrote this about ten minutes ago, i was searching "poet" on here, and everything i saw was either depressing, rageful (yeah i know it's not a word, but you get my meaning), or.... not suitable for kiddies....

then i came across a picture, can't remember what it was called, talking about poets, and, of corse, his heart was bleeding. don't get me wrong, it ws a good picture, and pretty creatively expressed, but... idk the whole "poets-are-all-emo-suicidal-people-who-think-of-nothing-happy-like-ever" thing seems a little overdone to me. am i the only one?

night!

I agree with your point there are a ridiculous amount of those type of poems it does get sad that someone cannot attempt at least to write something happy. We don't want everyone stereotyping that we are all emo (and all that) not that there is a fault in that but we are all different and I like how u've said it, to get the demons out.
So good work keep up the good writing :D
